SDK how-to
Use this section as the practical website documentation for the SDK. It starts with basic CLI checks, then moves into generation, configuration, catalog and graph outputs, portfolio workflows, agent surfaces, recipes, OKF, Data Contracts, and Python usage.
Source of truth: commands on these pages are grounded in the local odps-python CLI and user docs. YAML remains the canonical standards artifact. HTML, TOON, and GCF outputs are review views or context sidecars.
Install the package, run the CLI, validate a file, explain it, inspect references, and discover bundled resources.
Generation and ConfigCopy generation config, choose provider profiles, use local or hosted LLMs, generate fragments, and validate output.
Portfolio WorkflowsInspect source lanes, build a portfolio workspace, refresh, sync, localize, render, and debug source intake.
Agents and RecipesRun the MCP server, emit the ARWS manifest, and use ODPR recipes for repeatable dry-run-first workflows.
Recommended path
- Create a clean Python virtual environment.
- Run
open-data-products --versionand validate one known file. - Copy
generation.config.yamlbefore editing provider settings. - Generate one small artifact and validate it before building catalogs or portfolios.
- Use portfolio intake JSON when generated outputs look incomplete.
- Expose MCP only after the CLI works in the same environment.
